The Business Program provides objective measures of business rules and enforcement in 190 countries and selected cities at the national and regional level. Launched in 2002, the Doing Business Program looked at small and medium-sized companies in the country and measured the regulations that apply to them throughout their lifecycle. By collecting and analyzing comprehensive quantitative data to compare business regulatory environments across economies and over time, Doing Business encourages economies to compete with more efficient regulations. propose a measurable standard for reform and serves as a resource for academics, journalists, private researchers and others interested in the business climate of each economy.
